Change in circumstances information
You must tell us immediately about any changes in your circumstances. For example, this could either be a change in your address, your income or capital, or that of any other household member. Or also a change in who lives in your property or a change to your rent.Any delay in notifying us of a change could result in you either losing or being overpaid benefit which you will have to pay back.
Failure to notify us promptly of a change in your circumstances is an offence under Social Security legislation and could lead to further action, including prosecution.
You must always inform us in writing of any changes and we will need to see your original documents as we do not accept photocopies, however, please do not post these to us.
Please bring these to either the Revenues and Benefits section at the Civic Centre, Gateshead or one of our area housing offices when a benefits advisor is present.
